Roles of the Trustees

The roles and responsibilities of each of Verity's Trustees is listed below.  From time to time the duties and roles of the Trustees must change in order to keep the charity operating efficiently.  You can learn more about the individual's that make up Verity's management committee on the Meet the Trustees page.

Overview of roles

Chair

The Chair has overall responsibility for the running of the charity and maintaining its purpose.  She has the deciding vote on the Board of Directors if the board is split over a decision

Deputy Chair

The Deputy Chair assists the Chair in the running of Verity in ensuring the charity meets the necessary legal and financial requirements, as well as maintaining its purpose

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for Verity’s finances, both day to day book keeping to annual accounts.  This includes meeting the strict company legislation to balancing the books.  Any major financial expenditure is approved by the Board of Trustees

Company Secretary

The Company Secretary assists the board in meeting the legal requirements that are involved in running a charity and company.  She keeps the records of all the committee meetings in ensuring action is taken on the points raised

Events Manager

The Events Manager is responsible for organising the events Verity holds.  These include the national conference and smaller fundraising events.  She assists in raising Verity’s profile as a charity

Fundraising Manager

As Verity is a charity, apart from membership fees we are reliant on charitable donations.  The Fundraising Manager is responsible for managing these donations and raising much needed funds in order for the charity to continue it’s work

Information Production

The Information Production manager is responsible for producing Verity's twice yearly Newsletter, In Touch and any other information production.  She is involved in liaising with the appropriate professionals to produce accurate information 

PCOS UK Representative

The PCOS UK Representative is responsible for liaising between Verity and it’s subsidiary company, PCOS UK.  She ensures PCOS UK is meeting it’s requirements and delivering Verity’s message to the medical profession

PR Manager

The PR Manager is responsible for raising Verity’s profile as a charity and the profile of PCOS.  In as far as she can, she ensures that media publications are accurate in their portrayal of PCOS

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for liaising with the Local Groups Leaders in ensuring our members are receiving ground level support.  She also assists in their training and organising volunteer days

Website Manager

The Website Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Verity website is kept up to date with the charities news and activities, and that all information on the website is as accurate as possible.  The Website Manager is also responsible for overseeing the Discussion Board and volunteer Moderators
