Busting up myths about PCOS
During PCOS Awareness Week, we will be busting up some of the common myths around polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) on our blog. PCOS can be a very confusing condition, and there is a lot of misconceptions both amongst women with the condition and within the healthcare profession.
Verity's team of medical experts have cleared up some of the myths about PCOS, and we will be sharing them with you on the blog throughout the week. Some of the myths we will clear up include:
- Can you still have PCOS if you don't have cysts on your ovaries?
- PCOS can be cured
- PCOS will go away after menopause
- I can't lose weight because of PCOS
- If I have my ovaries removed I won't have PCOS anymore
