Dr Judith Ibison GP and Professor in primary care ST GEORGE'S UNIVERSITY
After postgraduate training, Judith Ibison worked as a GP in Hackney, completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.She subsequently combined clinical work with a Lecturer post in epidemiology, public health training until appointment to clinical lecturer role in primary care at St George's, becoming Professor of Practice in 2022.
Since 1993 she has been working in Lambeth, London, as a GP.
Academic roles at SGUL have included professionalism teaching and assessment development, Deputy Dean for Students, with collaborators in 2016 gained national funding and developed peer led sexual consent and bystander training for new students. Recent roles have been Deputy Course Director for Medicine and Course Director for the International MBBS programme, prior to being appointed Primary Care Education lead.
Academic scholarship interests include educational innovations on quality improvement, leadership and management, patient cohort handover.
Externally she has enjoyed appointments as External Examiner for external MBBS programmes, a panellist for Fitness to Practise investigations. She chaired the Board of a social enterprise providing talking therapies Compass Wellbeing and is a clinical advisor to the charity Verity which promotes the wellbeing of women with PCOS.
