patient dissemination: making research accessible

It's increasingly important (and required) for researchers to disseminate their findings directly to patients.

This practice promotes transparency, empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health, and fosters a sense of partnership between researchers and the individuals who stand to benefit from their work. Direct communication can help bridge the gap between scientific jargon and everyday language, making research findings more accessible and understandable to the general public. Overall, involving patients in the dissemination of research findings can lead to more meaningful and impactful outcomes for both the research community and the individuals it serves.

Verity believes that researchers play a vital role not only in advancing our understanding of PCOS, but also in empowering patients with the information they need to make informed decisions about their health.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Picture
We believe in transparent communication between researchers and patients. By translating complex scientific findings into plain language, we aim to make research more accessible and understandable to the PCOS community.

Knowledge is power. By providing patients with easy-to-understand summaries of research findings, we empower them to take an active role in managing their health and participating in their treatment decisions.

PCOS affects individuals in profound and varied ways. By engaging patients in the dissemination of research findings, we ensure that studies are relevant to patients and address the real needs and concerns of those living with the condition.

how to disseminate your paper to patients

If you've recently published a paper on PCOS, we encourage you submit it to Verity for us to consider it for patient publication. If accepted, we will ask you to re-write your paper in patient-friendly language and our team will work closely with you to ensure that the essence of your research is preserved while making it accessible to a wider audience. Further, we may also ask you to could do a Q&A style written interview with you that further breaks down your findings, but also dives deeper into how your research may evolve what we know of PCOS and the future impact on treatments / management.

If we deem your research to be of high interest to patients, we also may invite you to join us on a dedicated webinar to dive deeper and engage directly with patients.

All papers that we publish will be shared across our significant and global social media audience giving you great patient reach.

If you would like to submit your paper for Verity's consideration, please fill in this form.
